1- To help create setting, Ayn Rand uses color imagery. Find two examples in the chapter. What colors does the author use? What image is she trying to convey?
2- The first page of Anthem begins, “It is a sin to write this.” Using textual evidence, explain why Equality is committing a sin when he writes.
3- Why does Equality refer to himself as “we”?
4- Would you want to be friends with someone like Equality? Why or why not?
5- Ayn Rand wanted Equality 7-2521 to stand out from his brothers. Explain how she accomplished this by contrasting Equality 7-2521’s physical attributes to those of his fellow men.
3. He refers to himself as we because they are not aloud to use the word I. I is a word that is forbiden, because men are one and no one man can be better than the rest.

ReplyDelete4. Yes I would love to be friends with someone like Equality. He is very smart and inteligent and he has dreams that he want to be real. He also thinks for himelf even though the laws state he cant and that in its self is great.

Delete3) He is not using the word I or We because they do not exist. It is the only crime punishable by death if you use these words.

#5. She accomplished this by making Equality:stronger,smarter and taller than his fellow brothers.

ReplyDelete3. Equality refers to himself as "we" because the word 'we' is not in the men society's language .. Everyone in the society has to talk as everyone is equal so they are not allowed to talk towards them selves
